Gmail app set up

Note: most of the Android devices use the Gmail app by default.

  1. Select Exchange. Click Next.

  1. Type in your email address and password. Your phone will now attempt to configure your mailbox settings automatically. If it succeeds, you’ll be asked which items you’d like to sync (mail, contacts, etc.). If auto-configuration fails, you will be asked to enter the information manually (Step 3).
  2. Type in the settings as provided by Octagon:

Click Next.  Accept the security prompt.

    • Provide the description for the account (optional).
    • Finish the setup by tapping on Next button.

Note: if you receive an error, make sure you’ve typed in all the information correctly.  If issues persist, try disabling WiFi on your phone.

 

Samsung

  1. On the Home Screen of your device, tap the Menu button and choose Settings.

  1. Tap Add Account.
  2. Choose Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.
  3. Type in your primary email address and your password.

  1. Your phone will attempt to configure your mailbox settings automatically.  If it succeeds, you’ll be asked which items you’d like to sync (mail, contacts, etc.) If auto-configuration fails, tap Manual Setup.
  2. Type in the setting as provided by Octagon:

  • Click Next. Accept the security prompt.

 

HTC

  1. From the Home Screen select Settings.

  1. Choose Accounts & sync > select Add Account option.
  2. Choose Exchange ActiveSync for HTC.  Then type in your primary email address and your password.
  3. Your phone will attempt to configure your mailbox settings automatically.  If it succeeds, you’ll be asked which items you’d like to sync (mail, contacts, etc.) If auto-configuration fails, you will be asked to enter the information manually.

Secure connection (SSL) is checked.

Click Next.  Accept the security prompt.
